This year, we will be learning Italian using fun and authentic assessments. We will enhance your problem solving and creative thinking skills.  Some of the instructional activities will be derived by two textbooks: Forza Tre and Prego.

The themes we will be covering are

Friendship - Chi Trova un Amico, Trova un Tesoro - L'amicizia e l'amore     - Forza tre - Capitolo 5  (5-6 weeks)

Environmental Issues

Evaluate environmental problems. Make suggestions and recommendations for protecting the environment.

Express wishes, preferences and doubts. Discuss future career prospects
• Identify characteristics of different jobs. Make polite requests

TV or Cinema? Televisione o Cinema?

Identify characteristics of Italian cinema.  Narrate past events related to entertainment.  Design a news broadcast

Benvenuti alla classe d'italiano!

Intermediate Italian First Year Honors will be conducted in Italian. Difficult grammar concepts will be explained partially in English.

The students enrolled in the Intermediate Italian First Year Honors will review basic skills introduced in Novice First and Novice Second Year and continue with acquisition of the Italian language through increased communication, creation of authentic dialogues, reading and writing activities. The curriculum that will be presented using a variety of vehicles, including video clips, authentic materials and Italian music.
